Payal Rohatgi Granted Bail After Being Detained For Her Alleged Comments On Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Former Bigg Boss contestant and actress Payal Rohatgi, who had been detained allegedly for her comment on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, has now been granted bail by Rajasthan court
Model and actress Payal Rohatgi, who was also a contestant on Bigg Boss 2, made the headlines as she was detained by the Rajasthan police in Bundi. The actress had come under fire allegedly for her comment on former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. After that Payal had been denied bail on December 16, and according to ANI, she had been sent to eight-day judicial custody by a local court in Bundi and was to stay till December 24. Now, Payal Rohatgi has been granted bail by an additional district court judge in Bundi.
As per PTI, Payal Rohatgi’s lawyer Bhupendra Saxena moved an application in the court of the district judge on Monday, but it was moved to an additional district court as the judge was on leave today. Public prosecutor Yogesh Yadav was quoted by PTI as saying, "The court of additional district judge granted bail to Payal Rohatgi today on two bail bonds of Rs 25,000 each.” According to ANI, the complaint against Payal Rohatgi had been filed by Rajasthan Youth Congress general Charmesh Sharma in October, after which the police had registered a case under 66 and 67 of the IT act. On the day of her arrest, Payal Rohatgi took to her social media and had written that she was arrested by Rajasthan Police for making a video on former PM Nehru. She wrote, “I am arrested by #RajasthanPolice for making a video on #MotilalNehru which I made from taking information from #google Freedom of Speech is a joke.”
